News news news!!!

Greetings all, there’s loads to tell you today so I’ll kick off without further ado!

Firstly, you may have already heard rumours but today I can confirm that the As the World Tipped Australian tour is now confirmed, with the team flying out in January to perform our newest showstopper for the folks down under!  With two performances on the books so far; the first at Sydney Harbour for the opening night of the Sydney Festival, and the second in Parramatta to open that leg of the festival over there!  The whole team are really excited, and feel very lucky that they’ll be having such an amazing start to the year!  If you want to check out the Sydney Festival and find out what the fantastic event is all about visit http://www.sydneyfestival.org.au/2012/Festival-First-Night/Line-Up/By-Artist/As-The-World-Tipped-Festival-First-Night/  definitely worth a look!

Back in the relatively less exciting location of the Wired office, I’ve been doing a lot of organizing concerning the Emerging Artist Support Programme and our internship offers.  Our E.A.S Programme has been really well received so far, with loads of you putting in applications to come and create your own work in our happy home at The Higher Space (there are some really innovative creative types out there with some very unique ideas, it's all very exciting!)- but there’s always room for more so do check out all the information on our website, there’s so much potential for development for new artists there, and an opportunity not to be missed!  Wendy and Rob are in the office today pouring over a stack of applications and will be contacting everyone who has submitted their details, over the next couple of days- the best of luck to you all!  In terms of internships, it’s been a huge job to contact everyone who had submitted an application, so thanks to everyone for being patient in hearing back from us.  We love welcoming anyone that’s looking to learn about Wired and our approach to the aerial world, and it’s a great chance for those dipping their toe into the performance world to get completely immersed in the Wired work ethos and creative process.  One of our most recent interns, Connor Quill, was with us throughout the creation period of As the World Tipped, and he’s busting with enthusiasm and new knowledge to take back and apply to his own studies.  During his time with us he kept a video blog documenting his thoughts as he journeyed day by day through his placement- and watching his last entry I got all nostalgic and had to share it with you…

Connor was an excellent intern, and a highly talented performer- hopefully we’ll get to work with him again in the future, but for now, all the very best with the rest of your studies Connor- and thanks for allowing me to share this beautifully personal snapshot of your time with us.

Last week I told you about our Christmas Workshop Present Packs, and they’ve been selling like hot cakes, so I hope if you’re planning on grabbing one for your nearest and dearest that you get a wiggle on!  As an added extra bonus to slip into your socking, we’re giving away free Wired key rings to attendees who are also subscribed to our mailing list!  Not bad hey?!  The mailing list is so easy to join, just click the big red button on our homepage to add your details- and you’ll receive our quarterly newsletter with the highlights from The Higher Space, not to mention a heads up when we post new workshops, and best of all a handsome 10% discount when you take advantage of our early bird offers!  Not to worry though, we'd never pass on anyone's information to third parties, because that would be naughty, and we all hate spam don't we!!

Finally, I mentioned last week that I had some exciting news, and I checked for you today, but I can’t spill the beans until February!!! Ruuuude!  I know, sorry, but I shall find a way to make it up to you!
Until then... have a great week everyone!
